This webinar is designed for educators, school leaders, and professionals in the education sector who play a crucial role in safeguarding and educating young people.

Produced with support from youth gambling charity ygam and in conjunction with our sister magazine Children & Young People Now, this webinar's expert panel will explore young people, gaming and gambling from a school safeguarding and curriculum perspective – discussing the growing risks posed by online influences, the blurred lines between gaming and gambling, and what we can do to protect and educate young people.

The panel discussion will focus on the role of schools in prevention and early intervention. Topics will include:

  • The impact of advertising and social media
  • How peer pressure can influence gambling behaviours
  • The increasing presence of gambling-like mechanics in gaming, such as loot boxes and micro-transactions.

Our experts will discuss how schools can integrate gambling harm awareness into PSHE and safeguarding policies, equipping teachers with the knowledge and confidence to address these issues.

The session will also provide practical strategies for embedding gambling harm prevention into the curriculum, supporting students who may be at risk, and working collaboratively with parents and external organisations to create a safer environment for young people.
