Resources support children from military families

Schools are being offered access to a range of practical advice and resources to help support children who have parents serving in the British Armed Forces.

Children from military families face a number of unique challenges including being forced to move schools often, being regularly separated from their serving parent, living away from extended families and moving home frequently.

Charity Little Troopers has launched its Secondary School Resource Hub

offering resources including lesson plans and activity templates as well as teacher training support. Activities cover areas such as creative writing, sports activities, events, media skills, community engagement ideas and more.

In addition, the charity will be launching a secondary school Military Child Wellbeing Course template later this term and schools can now apply to receive this in the post. The six-session wellbeing course provides targeted early intervention and wellbeing support for all military children.
