SecEd's bi-annual NQT special edition is free to download and offers 10 pages of best practice guidance – both for trainee teachers and NQTs. This edition was published in November 2019.

The download is aimed at trainee teachers who are in the first term of their training year as well as this year's cohort of NQTs, who began in the classroom in September and are getting to grips with life at the chalkface.

Advice on offer includes articles on protecting your wellbeing and work/life balance, workload advice, tips for surviving your PGCE year, and advice from year 2 teachers,

There is also guidance on pedagogy, including how to avoid pupil disengagement and how to teach examination classes. And we offer discussion on pupil behaviour as well as how NQTs should work with the other adults who will be coming into their classroom – from the headteacher to teaching assistants.

The 10-page pdf of SecEd's November NQT special edition is free to download by clicking the button above.
