A successful investigation into doping in sport has led to three students from Sevenoaks School winning a national science competition.
The trio had to solve a sports-related doping scandal as part of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Schools’ Analyst competition.
Leyre Troyas, 17, Ollie Webster, 16, and Claire Nesbitt, 17, competed against teams from 19 other schools to win the final of the competition, which was held in the University of Sunderland’s science laboratories.
The Schools’ Analyst competition is a national event for year 12 students studying chemistry at AS or A level.
The Lady Eleanor Holles School in Middlesex took second place in the two-day challenge, with Beamish Academy in Gateshead coming third.
