The Institute for Effective Education (IEE) has published a number of new reports examining education projects and interventions funded via its grants programme.
They include:
- Audio feedback: This found that audio feedback was more effective than written feedback in improving test outcomes in sociology and maths A level: http://bit.ly/2U1yd6e
- No More Marking: An evaluation of an online comparative judgement platform on teacher workload and pupils’ English outcomes found no difference to outcomes. The intervention did reduce teacher perception of their workload: http://bit.ly/2HwhK4n
- Improving reading fluency: An evaluation of a small-group reading fluency intervention on the reading progress of children who are working below age-related expectations found a positive impact on pupils’ reading accuracy and comprehension: http://bit.ly/2ui6Wye
The IEE grants provide funding for pilot evaluations of innovations of teaching and learning approaches.
