Free online cricket resources

Chance to Shine’s Schools’ Portal is a one-stop shop for cricket resources.

Teachers can download a bank of high-quality key stage 3 and GCSE teaching materials for both the playground and the classroom.

The “Play” resources give PE teachers fresh ideas for fun, inclusive cricket activities and games for students of different abilities.

The downloadable sessions include videos and diagrams with a clear guide on how to develop students’ core batting, bowling and fielding skills.

Chance to Shine also worked with the Youth Sport Trust to devise a series of accessible, cross-curricular key stage 3 and 4 lesson plans, all linked to the national curriculum.

The key stage 3 and GCSE maths modules help with the statistics component of the curriculum, while the GCSE English lesson plans take students through a step-by-step process of making a presentation, with tips from BBC broadcaster Alison Mitchell.
