Kew Gardens launches Endeavour resource

London’s Kew Gardens has launched an online resource for UK schools in a bid to inspire the next generation of plant scientists.

Entitled Endeavour, the free digital learning platform aims to bringing world-leading plant science and horticulture to the classroom and foster a greater understanding of plants and fungi, while also exploring the pressing environmental issues facing our planet.

The teacher-created content is aimed at key stages 2 and 3 and focuses on STEM disciplines as well as critical thinking, creativity and literacy skills. It also offers access to Kew’s authoritative research base.

Endeavour – so named after the 1768 voyage of the HMS Endeavour – will also run competitions that schools can enter to win prizes and gain recognition for engaging pupils with contemporary questions about sustainable development and safeguarding the environment.
