The youngsters’ inventive suggestions included contact lenses that can record video, a virtual reality relaxation app to reduce stress as well as a pen with built-in data storage and voice-recording technology.
The 35 pupils who took part were from three schools, including year 9 students from St Paul’s Way Trust School in Tower Hamlets, east London, year 9 students from St Gabriel’s College in Camberwell, south London, and sixth form students from St Martin-in-the-Fields High School for Girls in Tulse Hill, south London.
Working in 10 teams, the young entrepreneurs pitched their ideas as part of Teach Tech Law, a three-month initiative run in London schools by the Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).
