Taking place on Thursday (October 11), the campaign is being led by global charity Plan International and is raising awareness of the fact that globally, one in three girls around the world is denied an education because of poverty, violence and discrimination. And a lack of access to education means that they suffer long-term poverty, health complications and emotional scarring.
