Diabetes resource unveiled

Pupil wellbeing
A resource for secondary schools is hoping to educate teachers, pupils and parents about type 1 diabetes.

Around 29,000 children are diagnosed with type 1 and the most common age of diagnosis is between 10 and 14. Produced by charity JDRF, Talking T1 – Teens with type 1 diabetes, aims to help schools support students.

Part of the pack is a video showing the day-to-day lives of two 14-year-olds who live with the life-threatening condition.

It also includes practical advice for schools, curriculum-linked discussion and activity sheets, student information cards and online CPD.
