At a glance headlines: June 11, 2015

A 'diabetes passport', student fundraising resources, travelling fellowships and Raspberry Pi resources are among the SecEd at a glance headlines for June 11, 2015.

Schools are being encouraged to adopt a new diabetes “passport” to help drive up standards of care for pupils with the condition. Launched by the InDependent Diabetes Trust, the Parents Passport for Schools provides a means by which parents can formally let schools know how to manage their child’s diabetes and in turn support schools to comply with new SEN regulations, as well as informing teachers about the condition. Champions of Change, an education initiative tailored for secondary schools, is aiming to allow young people to take the lead in fundraising. Launched by BBC Children in Need and Lloyds Bank, it enables young people to plan and run their own fundraising activities while developing literacy, numeracy, communication and teamwork skills. The initiative is publishing resources from September and a free school rewards kit is available. Visit: www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/championsofchange
