A £150,000 fund has opened by education charity SHINE with applications invited between now and January.
The Let Teachers SHINE supports innovative teaching ideas with grants of up to £25,000 over two years.
Projects must support disadvantaged children in the North of England to succeed in their English, maths, or science education.
As well as the funding, SHINE also offers practical support for the successful applicants to help them develop their ideas.
The competition is open to qualified classroom-based teachers who would like to pilot “a promising early-stage idea in their school”. Projects must be led by a qualified teacher and applicants need to show how their project will target disadvantaged children and young people aged up to 18.
