Nature in Your Neighbourhood: Film-making challenge

A film-making competition has been launched challenging pupils to capture “Nature in Your Neighbourhood” during their daily excursions from home while under lockdown.

The initiative from film education charity Into Film comes alongside the expansion of its free online learning hub to support home education.

The Nature in Your Neighbourhood competition is open to young people aged five to 19 across the UK and the challenge is to “creatively engage with nature and their surroundings through either live action or animation short film”.

The idea is to highlight what aspects of nature that young people have noticed since being on lockdown, whether that be in a local park or a garden or elsewhere. Entrants can use whatever film-making equipment they have available at home, including a smartphone, tablet or camera, and the films should be no longer than three minutes.
