Organised by children’s charity Place2Be, the theme for the week is Express Yourself – the aim being to encourage children to explore their feelings, thoughts and ideas.
Running from February 1 to 7, the week will see schools running activities promoting creative ways of expressing our feelings, from art, music and writing to dance, photography and film.
Free primary and secondary resources are now available including assembly guides, slides, group activities, fundraising ideas and more to help schools and youth groups explore the theme.
Ideas in the resources packs can be adapted for use in school, for home-schooling, online lessons or independent learning.
Place2Be’s “Dress to Express” Fundraising kit is also now available, encouraging schools, organisations and individuals to use colour to express themselves during Children’s Mental Health Week.
Place2Be is a children's mental health charity working with pupils, families and staff in UK schools. It provides mental health support in schools through one-to-one and group counselling. It also offers training and CPD.
The charity launched Children's Mental Health Week in 2015 to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people's mental health.
