The SSAT National Conference 2015 – Quality and Equity – focuses on three core themes: Closing the Gaps, Raising the Bar, and Leading Learning. SecEd's preview supplement is out now, looking at the key issues, debates and sessions that will be taking place at the event.

The SSAT National Conference 2015 takes place in Manchester on December 3 and 4. The event will see a host of school-led workshops and keynote presentations by academics and other experts focusing on the theme of Equity and Quality in education.

This free SecEd supplement delves into this theme and the conference's three key sub-themes:

  • Closing the Gaps: Delegates will discuss identifying and closing gaps between different groups of students, including areas such as the Pupil Premium, SEND, monitoring, tracking and more.
  • Raising the Bar – continually improving a range of educational outcomes for all students. Delegates will discuss the challenges of showing progress over time, attainment at key stages 2, 4 and 5, character, non-cognitive skills, employability and more.
  • Leading Learning: The third theme focuses on putting learning at the heart of school leadership. Delegates will debate the curriculum, assessment after levels, CPD and staff learning, whole-school pedagogy, student voice and co-construction, and evidence-informed practice.

The supplement also focuses on a new SSAT report about best practice use of the Pupil Premium and offers eight whole-school steps for ensuring your spending is effective.

We also include extensive programme information and other essential details about the SSAT National Conference 2015. Published: September 2015.
