A statement from the union last week said: “This decision has been taken as a demonstration of good faith in the attempt by the Scottish government to broker an acceptable Scottish solution to the public sector pensions dispute.”
The union is most opposed to the plans to raise the retirement age for teachers to 68 and has pledged to “continue to campaign in rigorous opposition”.
Its statement adds: “We reserve the right to reinstate the work to contract and further may ballot for other appropriate industrial action. We continue to advise members that the 35-hour week remains as a contractual maximum.”
