Resources released to support schools’ involvement with Safer Internet Day

A range of resources have been launched to help schools mark this year’s Safer Internet Day, which takes place on Tuesday, February 7.

The resources explore the power of image and video in young people’s digital lives and include films, photography projects, lesson plans and presentations.

Safer Internet Day 2017 has the slogan “Be the change: Unite for a better internet” and the main goal is to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for young people.

The event is organised in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre and schools are being asked to:

Among the resources, the Education Packs explore key internet safety topics through assembly presentations and scripts, lesson plans, quizzes, quick activities and whole-school activities. The UK Safer Internet Centre has also released accompanying films looking at the same themes.
