Mental health charities merge

Two mental health charities offering support for children and families have merged.

Together, Place2Be and The Art Room are aiming to extend and diversify the type of support offered in schools to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff.

Place2Be – whose patron the Duchess of Cambridge is pictured at one of the charity’s events – provides in-school therapeutic support for children, as well as training for school leaders and teachers.

The Art Room provides a group work intervention in schools, using creativity and art to improve the wellbeing of pupils experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties. The Art Room currently works with 530 children a week across eight specially designed Art Room studios in Edinburgh, Oxfordshire and London.
