Mental health best practice showcased at SecEd event

The government’s new mental health champion Natasha Devon and education minister Sam Gyimah are both to speak at a SecEd conference on mental health best practice.

The one-day event continues our on-going focus on the mental health of students and spreading best practice in supporting young people’s wellbeing.

Official figures show that three children in an average classroom have a diagnosable mental health problem, with many more struggling with undiagnosed conditions such as anxiety.

Amid mounting evidence of worsening mental health and wellbeing problems among our students, the conference will feature a wealth of evidence-based best practice and case studies of effective school interventions and strategies.

Taking place on December 3 in London, the day is being jointly hosted by our sister titles Headteacher Update and Children and Young People Now.
