Responding to demand from our readers, SecEd is to host its first-ever Mental Health and Wellbeing in Schools best practice conference.

Taking place on Friday, June 17 in Birmingham, the event will bring together a range of expertise to help support schools and their students.

Issues to be raised at the event include working with anger, developing resilience, supporting families, anti-bullying, therapeutic approaches, effective PSHE, self-harm, eating disorders, mentoring, counselling and more. You can download the full programme supplement by clicking above.

With national figures showing that 10 per cent of young people have a diagnosable mental health disorder, the thrust of our event is two-fold: to help schools to take preventative action to safeguard the mental health of their pupils, and to prepare school staff so they will know what to do when their students face difficulties or when different mental health problems arise.
