Collaboration guide issued to help school leaders

A guide for schools looking to join forces to collaborate and share expertise has been launched.

It is aimed at senior leaders and school governors and seeks to outline the steps schools would need to take to form partnerships, and the benefits and different types of collaboration.

The 20-page document, entitled Forming or Joining a Group of Schools: Staying in control of your school’s destiny, has been produced by the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), education lawyers Browne Jacobson and the National Governors’ Association (NGA).

It looks at models of school partnership and types of collaboration, as well as the implications for school budgets, information on accountability, additional funding streams, and a four-step decision-making process to help schools.
