Believe in Young People campaign aims to connect 700,000 young people with employers to boost skills and aspirations

Schools and colleges are being invited to get involved in a new campaign to connect employers with young people in a bid to build their skills and prepare them for the workplace.

Believe in Young People (BiYP) launched the campaign this week and it is aiming to reach 700,000 11 to 18-year-olds.

The charity exists to connect young people with employers to help them develop workplace skills and to support their transition into work.

Schools are being invited to register with the campaign and integrate BiYP’s existing employment skills programme into their curriculum.

Young people on the programme are given personalised learning experiences involving local employers, including impartial careers advice and guidance, work-related lessons, employer visits and workshops, and structured work experience.

The programme’s employer partners include the likes of Costa, Premier Inn, Babylon and Whitbread.

Tanja Kuveljic, chief executive at BiYP, said: “BiYP works to instil belief in young people and enables them to reach their potential by progressing their skills and behaviours from year 7 upwards.
