Best Practice Focus: Mental Health & Wellbeing

SecEd's resident mental health and wellbeing expert – Dr Pooky Knightsmith – has contributed a range of expert, best practice articles during the past two academic years.

These pieces have focused giving school staff practical advice to help them support vulnerable students and those young people who are facing challenges to their good mental health and wellbeing.

Topics include resilience, self-harm, disclosures, supporting students' recovery, talking with vulnerable students, asking the right questions, anxiety, spotting the signs, intervention advice and more.

All 13 of these articles, published in SecEd between September 2016 and July 2018, are available to download here for free, by clicking here.

A number of these articles were published in conjunction with the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust.
