About us
SecEd is the only independent weekly publication dedicated solely to secondary education.
Published each Thursday during the academic year, SecEd is a colour, glossy tabloid-sized newspaper that contains a mixture of thought-provoking news academic and best practice features, regular columns and an invaluable classified recruitment section.
It is written by its own team of writers and education journalists, supported by contributions from leading figures in UK education and, more importantly, practising and experienced headteachers, senior leaders and teachers.
Regular pages include a leadership section and CPD page, both of which are published fortnightly. It also contains a weekly Managing ICT section and software reviews, in-depth news focus articles breaking down the latest education reports and policy, and regular pieces looking at pedagogy and the sharing of best practice.
Up to three copies are distributed to every secondary school, teacher training college and initial teacher training provider in the UK, with a personal copy going to the headteacher.
In addition to the paper copy version, SecEd is also available as a free digital edition which is sent out via email each week to anyone who has regsitered to receive it.
This approach ensures that SecEd is read by the key figures in secondary schools around the UK and allows teachers at all levels, from the main decision-makers through to NQTs, to benefit from everything the newspaper offers.
Since its launch in April 2003, SecEd has grown from strength to strength and has firmly established itself as a must-read publication for those involved in secondary education. As a result of this SecEd is also endorsed by the National Association of Head Teachers as a key publication for their members around the UK.
SecEd has built up an estimated overall readership of 50,000 readers all involved in secondary education.
MA Education Ltd's other titles are EYE (Early Years Educator) and 5to7 Educator.
