About us
SecEd is the only weekly publication dedicated solely to secondary education.
It is distributed free on a weekly basis to every secondary school, every teacher training college and each initial teacher training provider in the UK. Up to three copies of SecEd are distributed to secondary schools throughout the UK with a personal copy going to the headteacher.
This tailored, targeted approach ensures that SecEd is read by the key figures in secondary schools around the UK and allows teachers at all levels, from the main decision-makers through to NQTs, to benefit from everything the newspaper offers.
Published each week during the academic year on Thursdays, SecEd is a colour, glossy tabloid-sized newspaper that contains a mixture of news stories, academic features, regular columns and an invaluable classified recruitment section.
SecEd contains thought-provoking news, features and columns from its own team of writers, plus contributions from leading figures in UK education, such as Schools Minister, Jim Knight, and Scottish Minister for Schools and Skills, Maureen Watt.
Since its launch in April 2003, SecEd has grown from strength to strength and has firmly established itself as a must-read publication for those involved in secondary education. As a result of this SecEd is also endorsed by the National Association of Head Teachers as a key publication for their members around the UK.
SecEd has built up an estimated overall readership of 50,000 readers all involved in secondary education (based on a pass-on readership of five people per copy).
MA Education Ltd's other titles are EYE (Early Years Educator) and 5to7 Educator.
